Wilmington, Delaware, January 21, 2009 - Bayard, P.A. announced that Michael J. Scali has been elected a Director of the firm.

Mr. Scali, an Associate with the firm since 2003, concentrates his practice in commercial lending, and commercial and residential real estate. He also advises clients in the areas of corporate formation and governance, alternative business entities, and commercial transactions.

Scali earned his B.A. from Villanova University in 1998, and his J.D. , cum laude, from The Dickinson School of Law of The Pennsylvania State University in 2001.

He is extensively involved in Delaware's corporate and professional communities. In 2008, he was elected to the Board of Directors of The Committee of 100, a business organization that promotes responsible economic development in the State of Delaware. In addition, Scali is member of the Delaware Community Development Corporation and its Personnel Committee, the Delaware Bankers Association, the World Trade Center Delaware, the Risk Management Association, the Delaware State Bar Association's Real & Personal Property and Commercial Law Sections, and the Real Property, Probate & Trust Law and Business Law Sections of the American Bar Association.

Recently, Scali was one of only eight attorneys selected to participate in the Meritas Leadership Institute, a year-long program that provides a forum for the development and identification of future leaders of the Meritas alliance of attorneys. Meritas is an international non-profit alliance of more than 160 independent commercial law firms in 60 countries.
