Bayard’s Evan Miller Serves as Moderator for Delaware State Bar Association’s CLE Event on Lawyer-Client Relations

On Wednesday, February 25, 2015, Evan T. Miller, an associate in Bayard’s Bankruptcy Group, served as the moderator for the CLE event entitled Fundamentals of Lawyer-Client Relations.  The event, sponsored by the Young Lawyers Section of the Delaware State Bar Association (DSBA-YLS), was held at the Delaware State Bar Association’s office in Wilmington and via live webcast at Tunnell & Raysor in Georgetown.

The program focused on the ethical complexities of the lawyer-client relationship, including the limits of zealously advocating for a client, how to work with a difficult client, how to follow the rules of professional conduct and what resources on professional responsibility are available for attorneys.

Evan moderated the event in his capacity as Chairman of the DSBA-YLS. The YLS provides opportunities for attorneys to acclimate to the practice of law in Delaware, meet new colleagues, and learn about Delaware State Bar Association activities. It sponsors informative seminars relevant to new lawyers, provides resources to establish roots in the legal community, and promotes collegiality through a variety of social and professional gatherings in all three Delaware counties.

Evan has been with Bayard since 2009. He is the Co-Chair of the PBA Bankruptcy Committee and is also active on the executive boards of several other professional associations, including the Delaware Bankruptcy American Inn of Court, Turnaround Management Association, and the American Bar Association.
