Charlene D. Davis and Douglas M. Hershman Have Been Named Delaware Super Lawyers for the Fourth Consecutive Year

Bayard, P.A., a Meritas® member law firm based in Wilmington Delaware, announced today that Charlene D. Davis and Douglas M. Hershman have been named Delaware Super Lawyers for the fourth consecutive year, in recognition of their work in bankruptcy & creditor/ debtor rights and real estate, respectively.

Ms. Davis and Mr. Hershman are among the 5 percent of lawyers in Delaware to be named to the list in 2010. The lawyers are selected through a statewide nomination process, review of resumes, peer evaluation by region, and the independent research of Law & Politics. The list appears in Pennsylvania Super Lawyers magazine and Philadelphia magazine.

Charlene D. Davis is a director at Bayard and serves as Vice Chairman of the firm. She focuses her practice on bankruptcy/creditors’ rights and commercial litigation. She regularly represents creditors, creditors’ committees, trustees and debtors in many large bankruptcy cases. She is an experienced federal litigator and a former Assistant United States Attorney. Charlene currently is Chair of the Bankruptcy Law Section of the Delaware State Bar Association. She has been recognized by Chambers USA in 2009 and by Lawdragon 3000 in 2007 and 2009 as a leader lawyer in bankruptcy and restructuring. She was previously designated as a Delaware Super Lawyer in the areas of bankruptcy and creditor/debtor rights in the June 2007, 2008 and 2009.

Douglas M. Hershman is a director at Bayard and serves as President of the firm. He leads the firm’s diverse real estate practice throughout Delaware and the surrounding states, representing both buyers and sellers of commercial and residential properties, borrowers in financing transactions, and lenders making commercial real estate loans. Doug serves as a Life Director to the Home Builders Association of Delaware, Chairman of the Better Business Bureau of Delaware, and a Board Member for the Delaware Military Academy and the Wilmington Economic Development Corporation. He is Second Vice President and a member of the Board of Governors of the University & Whist Club of Wilmington, Delaware, and serves as a volunteer arbitrator for the Better Business Bureau’s binding arbitration program for real estate disputes. Doug has previously been recognized as a leading attorney in the field of real estate law by both Chambers USA (2006 through 2009), Delaware Super Lawyers (2007 through 2009), and Lawdragon 3000 (2006, 2007, and 2009).
