Evan Miller Co-Hosts PBA’s Bankruptcy Committee Luncheon with the Bankruptcy Judges of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania

On Monday, May 5, 2014, Bayard bankruptcy attorney Evan T. Miller, in his capacity as Vice Chair of the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Bankruptcy Committee, coordinated and co-hosted a young bankruptcy lawyer luncheon with the bankruptcy judges for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania (“E.D. Pa.”). The event, held in Center City Philadelphia, was also hosted by Committee Chair Brya Keilson.

The luncheon was structured as an informal, “brown bag” event for younger bankruptcy attorneys practicing in the E.D. Pa. It presented attorneys with less than 6 years of practice with an opportunity to converse with several of the E.D. Pa.’s bankruptcy judges, including Chief Judge Eric Frank, Judge Jean FitzSimon, Judge Rick Fehling, and Judge Magdeline Coleman. The judges also gave valuable "best practices" tips for young bankruptcy practitioners.

Evan has served as Vice Chair of the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Bankruptcy Committee since the fall of 2013. The Philadelphia Bar Association is the oldest association of lawyers in the United States. Its Bankruptcy Committee is devoted to promoting the professional development of bankruptcy attorneys and seeks to educate attorneys and law students on new case developments and current bankruptcy law trends.

Evan is an executive member of several other organizations, including Turnaround Management Association NextGen’s Philadelphia Chapter, the Delaware Bankruptcy American Inn of Court, the Delaware State Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Section, and the American Bankruptcy Institute’s Young & New Members Committee.
