Bayard, P.A., a law firm based in Wilmington Delaware, announced today that the Meritas® Executive Committee has selected Michael J. Scali, a director with the firm, to serve a one-year term on its Finance Committee. The Finance Committee provides oversight of Meritas’® financial planning, budgeting and strategy.

Scali concentrates his practice in the areas of commercial lending, commercial and residential real estate, corporate formation and governance, alternative business entities, and commercial transactions.
Active within the Delaware business and professional communities, Scali serves as a member of the Board of Directors and First Vice President for The Committee of 100, a business organization that promotes responsible economic development in the State of Delaware, Michael is also a member of the Committee’s Scholarship Subcommittee and the Chair of the Committee’s Membership Subcommittee. He also serves as an arbitrator for the Better Business Bureau’s binding arbitration program for real estate disputes and lectures on entity formation and governance, and on title issues and title insurance.
Scali is a member of the Board of Directors of the Delaware Community Development Corporation and its Personnel Committee. He also is active in the Delaware Bankers Association and is a member of The Risk Management Association, an organization whose objective is to further the ability of financial institutions to identify, assess, and manage the impacts of credit, business, and market risks.
Recently, Michael was recognized as a leading attorney in the field of real estate law by Chambers USA 2011.
