The Bayard Firm’s 50-Year History, Renewed Growth Mode Featured in Delaware Business Ledger Article

The Bayard Firm’s “renewed growth mode” and its nearly 50 year history in the Wilmington legal community are the topic of a feature article in the July 5, 2007 issue of The Delaware Business Ledger.  “Bayard has prospered in a market that has gone through many changes since the firm’s inception,” writes the author.  The firm was once led by Alexis Irene du Pont Bayard, a World War II veteran, former lieutenant governor and the great-great-great-grandson of James Bayard, a congressman who wrote the first US bankruptcy law.  Besides keeping up with the increased pace of the Chapter 11 bankruptcy practice, the firm will continue to expand in other practice areas, from Chancery Court litigation to real estate and IP litigation. The firm expects to bring at least two more attorneys on by the end of the year. “We’re looking forward to celebrating our 50th anniversary,” says Chairman Jeffrey Schlerf.
