The News Journal Names Bayard a Top Workplace

Bayard, P.A., a Meritas® member law firm based in Wilmington Delaware, is one of the best employers in Delaware, according to The News Journal. The News Journal partnered with Workplace Dynamics to identify Delaware’s “Top Workplaces in 2011” based on employee response to confidential surveys related to company direction, execution, conditions, management, career opportunities, pay and benefits.

100 companies participated in the research; 50 were selected to the list. The list categorized companies into small, medium and large workplaces based on number of employees. Bayard was ranked within the top 5 in its workplace category.

“Workers and managers at the top seem to agree on one thing in general: intangibles matter,” said Doug Williams, Business Editor for The News Journal.

“Bayard provides maximum benefits to its employees as a means of showing the great appreciation the firm has for their contributions toward the firm’s success. We encourage collegiality among our workplace, each helping the other to produce their best possible work,” said Douglas M. Hershman, President of the firm. “Everyone works together toward the greater good, producing the best possible product or service for our clients. We work very hard, but at the same time provide a more relaxed work environment. We are very honored to receive this award.”

Bayard, P.A., a Wilmington, Delaware-based firm, has nationally recognized practices in commercial bankruptcy, corporate and commercial litigation, intellectual property, securitization, structured finance, and insurance insolvencies. Other established practices include counseling clients in the formation of corporations and other alternative entities, real estate, insurance, tax, estate planning and estate administration, and domestic disputes.

Top Workplaces are organizations that provide their employees with a great place to work. Companies profiled on www.topworkplaces.com have been selected following a survey of their employees—and the only companies featured are those whose employees have rated them as having a great work environment. In 2010 over 3,000 organizations across the US have had their workplaces assessed by employees. The workplace surveys are conducted by WorkplaceDynamics LLC, and the programs are run in conjunction with major newspapers in regional areas.
