Bayard’s Douglas M. Hershman Recognized by Super Lawyers, Corporate Counsel magazine
WILMINGTON, Del. – January 5, 2010 – Bayard, P.A., a Meritas® member law firm based in Wilmington Delaware, announced today that Douglas M. Hershman, a director with the firm and Chair of its Executive and Marketing Committees, will be recognized in Super Lawyers, Corporate Counsel Edition to be published in May 2010.
Super Lawyers is a listing of outstanding attorneys from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. Selection for the annual list, featured in Corporate Counsel magazine, is limited to only 5 percent of lawyers in any jurisdiction, and is based on a multiphase process that combines peer nominations and evaluations with third party research.
Hershman has been consistently recognized as a leading attorney in the field of real estate law by Delaware Super Lawyers from 2007 through 2009 and by Chambers USA from 2006 through 2009. Additionally, Mr. Hershman was listed among Lawdragon 3000 Leading Lawyers in America for 2006 and 2007, and was a finalist for Lawdragon’s 500 Leading Lawyers in America for 2007.
A director with Bayard for more than ten years, Hershman leads the firm’s diverse real estate practice, representing clients engaged in all aspects of the real estate industry throughout Delaware and surrounding states. His practice includes representations of both buyers and sellers of commercial and residential real estate, as well as borrowers in financing transactions. Hershman also represents lenders making commercial real estate loans.
He was recently elected as Vice Chairman of the Delaware Better Business Bureau. He is a member of Delaware State Bar Association’s Real and Personal Property Section, and previously served three terms as Chairman of the Section and many years as a member of its Executive Committee. He is also actively involved in the Home Builders Association of Delaware and was recently elected as a Life Director. He serves on the Board of the Wilmington Economic Development Corporation (WEDCO).
Hershman graduated from the University of Delaware with a B.A., magna cum laude, in 1983, and earned his J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law in 1986.
