Curtis P. Bounds is a director at Bayard where he is head of the Family Law practice. Curtis focuses on family law matters and practices in the Delaware Family Court in New Castle, Kent, and Sussex Counties.
Curtis concentrates his experience in complex divorce and child custody cases. He also assists clients with pre and post-nuptial agreements, support matters, visitation, and adoption. Curtis is a volunteer for the Office of the Child Advocate, representing children who are abused, neglected or dependent, and he is trained in Alternative Dispute Resolution as a mediator.
Curtis is a member of the American Bar Association Family Law Section, and he is a past Chair of the Delaware Bar Association Family Law Section. He currently serves as a Commissioner to the Delaware Family Law Commission. He also serves as the Vice-Chair of the Delaware Humanities Council, the governing board of the Delaware Humanities Forum. Curtis is a member of the University & Whist Club.
Curtis lectures and writes on family law matters for continuing legal education seminars, adult education classes, public interest groups, and legal publications. Curtis contributes to the Delaware State Bar Association Family Law Section’s annual review of Family Law, and also served as the reporter on Delaware cases in Family Law Quarterly, a publication of the American Bar Association Family Law Section.
