Attorneys from Bayard were treated to a tour of Dogfish Head Brewery in Milton, Delaware. Before touring the facility and sampling the wide variety of craft beers Dogfish Head offers, they were greeted by Dogfish’s founder Sam Calagione and met with general counsel Shauna Barnes.
The visit was routine for Bayard attorney Dick Kirk. As Dogfish Head grew from Delaware’s first brewpub to the 100,000 square foot craft beer manufacturing and distribution site, Bayard attorney Dick Kirk worked closely with Sam Calagione to change the Prohibition-Era laws that would have prevented Dogfish Head’s growth and innovation in Delaware. Dick and Sam continue to work on legislative initiatives to accommodate and encourage the growing micro-brewery and winery industry in Delaware.
