Bayard Director Curtis Bounds Recognized in Chambers High Net Worth Guide

Wilmington, Delaware- Bayard is pleased to announce that Curtis P. Bounds is recognized by Chambers in the 2021 Edition of the High Net Worth Guide.  The Guide ranks the top lawyers and law firms for international private wealth. The rankings are based on criteria which include:

The Chambers High Net Worth Guide reported: “He’s a good advocate and he’s very smart,” observes a commentator, who explains that “with high net worth divorces, people need good financial sense, they need to have that background knowledge and understand the tax laws.”

Curtis is the chair of Bayard’s Family Law practice, which has litigated Delaware’s high net worth domestic relations matters for more than 50 years, with two sitting and one retired Delaware Family Court Judge having belonged to its ranks.  Curtis also focuses on complex child custody cases and works to help transition his clients and their families to a post-separation, post-divorce state of existence. He will also assist a client contemplating marriage to craft a prenuptial agreement that protects his client’s interests but also focuses on the economic needs of the marriage. Curtis is 20-year volunteer for the Office of the Child Advocate, representing children who are abused, neglected or dependent, and he is trained in Alternative Dispute Resolution as a mediator/arbitrator

Curtis is a member of the American Bar Association Family Law Section, and is a past Chair of the Delaware Bar Association Family Law Section. He currently serves as the Chair of the Delaware Family Law Commission and is a former member of the Delaware Access to Justice Commission.  In 2019, Curtis was named a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML), an organization comprised of top matrimonial attorneys throughout the nation. Curtis is currently the only active attorney Fellow in Delaware.
