Bayard Elects Stephen B. Brauerman and GianClaudio Finizio as Directors

Bayard, P.A., a Meritas® member law firm based in Wilmington Delaware, announced today that Stephen B. Brauerman and GianClaudio Finizio have been elected as Directors of the firm effective January 1, 2013.

Glassman. “They are attorneys who have distinguished themselves in their respective practice areas and who will undoubtedly continue to serve Bayard and its clients in their proven dedicated fashion.”

Stephen B. Brauerman concentrates his practice in the areas of corporate, commercial and intellectual property litigation. He has litigated a wide array of cases involving fiduciary duty claims, corporate and alternative entity control disputes, advancement/indemnification, breach of contract, antitrust, securities, patent infringement, copyright infringement, and trademark matters. Steve also counsels clients concerning the General Corporation Law of the State of Delaware and Delaware’s alternative entity statutes. In 2012, Delaware Super Lawyers recognized Steve as a Rising Star in intellectual property litigation. Steve is admitted to practice in the state and federal courts of Delaware and New Jersey. He currently serves the legal community as vice-chair of the Limited Liability Companies, Partnerships, and Alternative Entities Subcommittee of the Business Law Section of the American Bar Association; membership chair of the Intellectual Property Committee of the Business Law Section of the American Bar Association; and, secretary of the Delaware Chapter of the Federal Bar Association. Steve graduated with honors from the John Hopkins University and earned a J.D., cum laude, from the American University, Washington College of Law. While in law school, Steve worked for the Honorable Gerald Bruce Lee of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. Steve also served as Editor-in-Chief of the American University Law Review (Volume 55).

GianClaudio Finizio concentrates his practice in the areas of bankruptcy and insolvency law, insurance law and mergers and acquisitions, including general corporate and business law matters. GianClaudio regularly represents debtors, official committees of unsecured creditors or equity holders, financial institutions, and publicly and privately held businesses in bankruptcy cases. He also focuses on insurance matters including advising insurance companies regarding compliance with state regulations and changes in ownership or control. During 2008, GianClaudio performed the duties of Deputy Insurance Commissioner for then Insurance Commissioner of Delaware (now Lieutenant Governor) Matthew Denn. GianClaudio is admitted to practice in the state and federal courts of Delaware. Prior to practicing law, he served as a business analyst in Basell USA Inc.’s Health, Safety and Environment Department, supporting North American manufacturing, research and development facilities in the areas of product regulatory activities, environmental, toxicological, health, safety, and industrial hygiene. GianClaudio earned a B.A. in Biology and Italian from the University of Delaware in 1994, and a J.D., magna cum laude (co-valedictorian), from the Widener University School of Law in 2002. While in law school, GianClaudio served as a Judicial Extern for the Honorable Jane R. Roth in the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. He is fluent in Italian.
