Four Attorneys from The Bayard Firm Named as Delaware Super Lawyers

The Bayard Firm announced today that Philadelphia Magazine has designated four of its Directors as "Delaware Super Lawyers 2007."

Recognized in the inaugural listing are Charlene D. Davis and Jeffrey M. Schlerf, who practice in the area of bankruptcy and creditors rights, Douglas M. Hershman, who practices in the area of commercial and residential real estate, and Marla H. Norton, who practices in the area of Delaware business and entity law.

The Delaware Super Lawyers listing, in its inaugural year, reflects the top 5% of the attorneys statewide based on nominations by peers and independent research by the publishers of Law & Politics magazine. The Bayard Firm lawyers are among only 90 Delaware attorneys chosen as Superstars as a result of a process that includes nominations by peers and ballots directed to 1,800 active lawyers in Delaware. In addition to the listing in Philadelphia Magazine's special section this month, the lawyers are also listed in Pennsylvania Super Lawyers 2007 Magazine and on SuperLawyers.com.

"It's truly an honor to be recognized by our peers as among the top attorneys in the state in the first-ever listing of Delaware Super Lawyers," said Jeffrey Schlerf, Chairman of The Bayard Firm.  "We are pleased to earn rankings in a diverse cross section of practice areas, from bankruptcy to corporate entity law and real estate, representative of the range of capabilities and strengths we offer our clients," he said.

The Bayard Firm lawyers were selected in the following practice areas:

  • Jeffrey M. Schlerf - Bankruptcy & Creditor/Debtor Rights

  • Charlene D. Davis - Bankruptcy & Creditor/Debtor Rights

  • Douglas M. Hershman - Real Estate

  • Marla H. Norton - Business/Corporate

The special section of the June 2007 issue of Philadelphia Magazine also featured an article by Douglas M. Hershman entitled, "Why would I need a lawyer for a simple real estate settlement?" The article focused on the benefits of having a qualified attorney involved in your real estate transaction.
